I mean, it has happenned to me several times to be in the unconfortable position of having answered an email received through a group, and wishing to answer only this person, and saying quite confidential things that have been open for everybody in the yahoo group to read because when you hit "reply" in the email, it automatically replies to the whole group?
Is there any way to change this, or altenatively, is there any knack to remember effectively to check the email first? I tried the post-its around the screen, but nothing will do it, I keep doing it :-s.

email that person
References :
Select "reply to sender"
Don’t select "reply to everyone"
Then check the to: amd cc: sections to confirm, before you send the message.
References :
you can’t — you have to know the specific person’s email and write to them directly.
References :
just write directly to that person’s email address or IM if he or she allows it.

If you go to the actual Yahoo group page and go to the "Members" section you can then click on the email address of the person you want to send to and send to them individually. It only shows you the first few letters of the person’s address for privacy reasons, but you can reach them privately that way. Hope this helps.

You can email the person directly from yahoo answers when you click on their name if they have their email account set up. If you mean in regular email you just put their name on the To: line and no one else. Also make sure when you hit reply you do not hit reply to all.
